Vibe Coders Fix Hiring: Super friends assemble. The algorithm will not fix itself. First, let us understand the urgency and name the moment. AI is changing work, hiring, and visibility at the same time. Workforce disruption is accelerating. World Economic Forum projects 92 million jobs displaced, and 170 million new roles created by 2030. That means millions of people laid off, and most need to reskill, reposition, prove capability, and get seen in a labor market shaped by AI.
People Are Hurting: AI has made Qualified Talent Disappear

AI layoffs are real. Challenger, Gray & Christmas reported 87,714 U.S. job cuts attributed to AI through May 2026, representing 22% of all announced layoffs this year. May AI Layoffs alone account for 40% of announced job cuts.
It is an AI fairness, workforce visibility, and economic access issue.
AI hiring adoption is rising fast. ResumeBuilder reported that 68% of companies planned to use AI to acquire talent, for resume review, candidate assessments, interviews, and communication. Automatic rejection is already visible. Business Insider reported the story of a professional receiving rejection six minutes after applying raising concern that automated screening excludes candidates before humans even see the resume.
Biased AI recommendations can influence human decisions. In a resume-screening study, when people working with AI systems favored AI-preferred candidates up to 90% of the time.
Because right now, a talented candidate can tailor the resume, match the role, bring proven experience, and still disappear before a human sees the full story.
The Danger is AI Layoffs remove people from work, then block their return to work
- AI layoffs remove people from work.
- Automated hiring systems can block the comeback.
- Automated AI Resume screeners can rank qualified candidates down.
- Fast rejection workflows can make exclusion look efficient.
- Weak governance can leave fairness unproven.
So, no, this cannot wait.
AI helped create displacement. Human-centered AI must create the comeback.
WomenAILabs is building a Vibe Coding Justice League of Superheroes for July 18–19, in Chicagoland and virtually, to create evidence-based solutions for fair AI hiring.
AI layoffs are already impacting jobs. Meanwhile, automated resume screening can make the comeback harder.
So we need empowered builders ready to help improve Fair AI for All.
We need:
💻 Vibe Coders to build prototypes
🧠 AI mentors to guide teams
🏆 Judges to evaluate fairness and impact
🎯 Sponsors to fund bounties and prizes
🏫 One Chicagoland university partner
🏢 Companies ready to lead fair hiring innovation
📣 Champions who can bring doers into the room
This is not a hype hackathon.
What can you help us get done before July 18?
Build. Mentor. Sponsor. Judge. Host. Share. Recruit. Open doors.
If you care about fair AI, stop watching and start building. Let’s build the proof.
