From NASA digital strategy to AI education
Brée brings a fascinating mix of creative powerhouse with more than 20 years of experience in digital strategy and communications. Her career includes work as a digital strategist at NASA, where she helped communicate technical and scientific work to broad public audiences.
That experience required effective communications and a super power capability to make complex information understandable while supporting engagement, sound judgment, and public trust.
Today, as founder of Brée Nachelle Innovations, Brée works with founders, creators, and teams exploring how to use AI with greater purpose and clarity.
She also created Build in Beta, a human-centered AI community where people can experiment with artificial intelligence, build practical tools, and learn together. Through workshops and hands-on experiences, participants can move from curiosity about AI toward practical application in their work, businesses, and creative projects.
Brée also serves as a Zo Computer ambassador and Early Stage Track Co-Lead for DC Startup & Tech Week 2026. Across these roles, she defines the vision and direction of emerging technology with the people, skills, and communities that can put it to useful work.
An author focused on human agency in AI
Brée as the author of Aligned, Not Automated: A Mindful Manifesto for the Modern Creator, explores how people can use technology while preserving human judgment, creativity, intention, and agency.
That perspective is becoming increasingly relevant as organizations and individuals decide where AI belongs in everyday work.
AI can increase speed and capacity, yet responsible adoption also requires people to understand the tools they use, recognize where human judgment remains essential, and consider how technology affects employees, customers, creators, and communities.
As a podcast host, educator, and strategist, Brée extends these ideas through teaching and conversation. Across writing, workshops, audio, and community programs, she makes unfamiliar technology more approachable and gives people practical ways to participate in technological change.
Building AI literacy through story and community
That perspective supports the next chapter of WomenAILabs.
Through AmplifyHER™, learning cohorts, community challenges, and hands-on building opportunities, WomenAILabs aims to expand AI literacy, help people develop useful solutions, and increase visibility for meaningful work that might otherwise be overlooked.
As Strategic Advisor, Narrative & Community Impact, Brée will help WomenAILabs translate complex AI issues into accessible learning experiences, strengthen connections between programs and the communities they serve, and elevate people turning AI knowledge into practical action.
Her work will connect four areas that increasingly matter as organizations adopt artificial intelligence: AI literacy, human-centered adoption, community participation, and narrative clarity.
Clear storytelling can help people understand what AI is doing, why it matters, and where they have a role in shaping its use. Community learning can then turn that understanding into experimentation, skills, and practical solutions.
“Algorithms shape people’s opportunities long before most of us understand where or how those decisions are being made,” Brée wrote in her Advisory Council application. “I want to help this work move beyond reports and reach the people it affects.”
Why participation matters
Brée’s appointment reflects a central WomenAILabs principle: participation matters.
More equitable AI depends on more people understanding how these systems work, recognizing where they influence everyday decisions, gaining opportunities to build with them, and having a meaningful voice in what comes next.
That participation also has practical consequences for organizations.
When more people understand AI, leaders can make better-informed decisions about adoption and governance. Employees can identify workflow opportunities and risks. Communities can ask stronger questions about systems that affect them. Builders can create solutions informed by a wider range of needs and experiences.
AI literacy, therefore, is more than technical training. It is part of workforce participation, service quality, responsible innovation, and organizational readiness.
What Brée Nachelle will bring to WomenAILabs
Brée’s advisory work will help WomenAILabs connect complex technology with understandable stories, practical learning, and community experience.
Her background in digital strategy, AI education, authorship, and community building can support programs that help people move from awareness to application.
That includes helping participants understand emerging AI tools, identify useful workflows, experiment responsibly, and communicate what they learn so others can benefit.
Her role also supports a broader leadership question facing organizations today:
Who gets the knowledge, confidence, visibility, and opportunity to participate as AI changes work?
WomenAILabs approaches that question through practical learning, experimentation, community problem-solving, and greater visibility for women building with technology.
Brée’s advisory role will help connect those efforts with the stories, experiences, and communities that can expand their reach and impact.
